This course is also designed to prepare a foundation for students as they take advanced levels of English.  The students will learn from set objectives established for them to be successful in exams and successful in life.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Expectations of Student Behavior&lt;br /&gt;Students will be&lt;br /&gt;            · Prompt&lt;br /&gt;            · Prepared&lt;br /&gt;            · Polite&lt;br /&gt;            · Properly attired&lt;br /&gt;All district and campus policies will be in effect.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Grading Scale&lt;br /&gt;The district-wide grading scale is as follows:&lt;br /&gt;40% Classwork/Homework&lt;br /&gt;25% Tests&lt;br /&gt;20% Projects&lt;br /&gt;15% ACP&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Late Work Policy&lt;br /&gt;You will be given one opportunity to make up late work.  If you do not turn in homework the day it is due, you will be assigned to the after school Homework Academy per Mr. Conger.  Failure to attend the Homework Academy when assigned will result in further disciplinary action. Your parents will also be contacted.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Bell ringers Everyday will begin with a bell ringer.  You will find the bell ringer on the front screen.  Bell ringers will be started as soon as you come in everyday.  Bell ringers are required and are worth 20% of your grade.  If you are absent it is your responsibility to get the bell ringers.   You may now access them from  my webpage. Bell ringers are due every Friday.  They may NOT be turned in late.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Tutoring&lt;br /&gt;For every hour of tutoring with me, the student earns one extra point for the six weeks grade.                               &lt;br /&gt;Saturday School&lt;br /&gt;On occasion, I will have Saturday school from 8-12.  For every hour a students comes to Saturday school, the student will receive 1 extra point on their six weeks’ grade.  Saturday school will usually be offered 2-3 times per six weeks.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Major Texts&lt;br /&gt;You will be required to purchase the following books. All work will be done in this spiral/journal unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.   Bell ringers WILL be done on notebook paper separate from your journals.   You will use both the front and back of all paper.   When you complete a journal, you will give it to me and purchase a new one. &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;Classroom Expectations &amp;amp; Procedures&lt;br /&gt;Ms. Hennegan’s English Classes&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt;I will lead a respectful and disciplined classroom.  To achieve this we will follow certain classroom procedures.  We will be organized, efficient, and on task.
